Brown’s Tavern
Introducing our Oatmeal Stout Brown’s Tavern.
Our first release in our Tavern Series. Composed of a simple grist of rustic local malts and rolled oats, this easy drinking stout strikes a fine balance between roasty and chocolate notes, backed by a pillowy mouth feel from the local oats. Browns Tavern was established in 1793 and located high on the east bank of the Kennebec river in a section of Vassalboro, known for years as Brown's Corner in his honor. A one-time gathering place for the wayfarer along Maine's post roads, the pungent atmosphere of bygone days still hovers around his tavern. The historic old tavern is still standing today and the farmland is worked by our dear friends at Love Birds Farm
